“When to Change Lanes to Heal the World?”

When do physicians need to change lanes and become overtly political to be true to their ethical role as healers? Using creative writing exercises to generate perspective and discussion, the students will dramatize how to engage larger social changes that must be addressed in order to maximize healthy outcomes for their patients. Deleterious macro-stressors touching directly on public health include global warming, gun violence, environmental pollution, the anti-vaxxer movement, among others.
